Hurricane Irene and breakfast

27 Aug

This weekend I’m visiting my parents down in Tucson, so today I woke up to some delicious coffee, courtesy of Mom. I LOVE my Mom’s coffee!! She typically uses this coffee from a local restaurant in Tucson, the Blue Willow, and she always has delicious creamer. Seriously, no one can beat the way my Mom makes coffee!

I made myself some toast and then added the hardboiled eggs Dad made for us, so I had a pretty healthy breakfast.

Yes, my coffee is in one of those Starbucks travel mugs… this one is from Paris! While I studied abroad in Europe, I visited every Starbucks in every major city we went to… Paris and Madrid are my favorite mugs, and I left them in Tucson with my Mom because I knew she would be the best one to care for them while I’m moving around the US. Thanks, Mom!

After making breakfast, I watched the Weather Channel with Dad for a little while. Hurricane Irene looks so cool! All of my friends on Facebook and Twitter who live on the East Coast seem to be taking the hurricane pretty lightly… most updates have been jokes about the hurricane, or people hosting parties tonight and telling Irene to “bring it on.” I’ve never been in a hurricane (thanks, Arizona!) but I don’t think I would necessarily be taking a hurricane so lightly…

Today, my Mom, cousin and I will be going swimming, and I am PSYCHED! My sunburn from last week has finally turned into a tan, so I plan on slathering myself with sunscreen and hopefully getting another tan :)

Hope everyone on the East Coast stays safe! Happy Saturday!
